HDMI 1.2 do not support the

but old graphics card such as GT 710 do not come with HDMI 2.0 port
The GT 710s came out in 2014 and have HDMI 1.4 which can do 4K @ 30Hz. The OP is needing just 1440p so that can be easily accomplished with a GT 710. The 710s also have support in Big Sur so an upgrade to that is possible too.

Here's the specs on my Zotac GT 710:

1 x Dual link DVI (2560x1600 @ 60 Hz)
1 x HDMI 1.4 (4k @ 30 Hz)
1 x VGA (2048x1536 @ 60 Hz )

Even DVI can be adapted to HDMI and used with a 1440p monitor. HDMI to HDMI is the preferred way. When I connect the GT 710 to a 43" 4K TV I get 4K/30 with no problems and can stream 4K content.

4K support enables video resolutions beyond 1080p, supporting high-resolution displays that deliver movie theater-like experiences to the home with incredible depth, detail and color. This includes support for 4096×2160 at 24 Hz, 3840×2160 at 24, 25, and 30 Hz, and 1920×1080 at 120 Hz. All resolutions and refresh rates can be supported with a High Speed HDMI Cable.
