Dear all.
I want to update my current iMac Mid-2010 for a new Hackintosh.
I don't want my new build to play, but a robust system for any task that is not very demanding, and that will last me at least another 10 years (difficult, I know). I'm also not going to overclock.
Intel's idea is clear to enjoy Hackintosh.
My main doubt is which socket choose:
  • Z390 with greater support, DDR4> 3000 + i7 9700 (non K).
  • H470 without any current guide, DDR4 support up to 2666 + i5 10600 (non k).
The other components would be
  • DDR4 2x8Gb Corsair Vengance
  • RX580 Saphire Plus 8Gb
  • Samsung EVO Pus 500Gb SSD
  • NZTX H1
Which is better, a more powerful chipset like the Z390 with support for faster memories, or a more modern chipset, but with limitations? (Actually, Z490 itx MB are extremely expensive)

Thanks for you advice, but assume that both configuration are at the same price. With which configuration I would have a better performance?
- Asus STRIX Z390-i + I7 9700 + 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200: 633€
- Asus STRIX H470-i + I5 10600: 555€ + 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200: 649€

as Barney Stinson says: "Ted, new is always better"
but i feel your problem, it is the same CPU :)
anyway if you opt to take the 10600 then buy a single 16GB RAM module to allow future upgrade to 32GB. There is no need to waste the memory slot with an 8GB module in terms of performance. you wont feel the difference in apps
