Hello to all.
Please excuse my bad English (I'm Italian) and if I open a topic on a subject already discussed.

After thinking about it for a while (about a year) I decided to change my home PC now obsolete (purchased about 6 years ago) where I began to have various problems (especially of slowing down even with ubuntu).

I do not have big problems baget and I would like to create a PC that does not become opsoleto in a couple of years.

I'll have to do video editing of HD video (use a gopro heroes at 1080p).

I thought the configuration CustoMac Pro structured as follows:
CPU Core i7-4770K 3.5Ghz
4 Cores / 8 Threads, Turbo Unlocked for Overclocking
8MB L3 Cache
84W Max TDP
Motherboard Gigabyte Z87X-OC FORCE
Socket 1150,
Intel Z87 Express,
4 x DDR3,
6 x S-ATA 600,
WiFi,
E-ATX,
Haswell,
3 x PCI Express 3.0,
USB 3.0,
Bluetooth)
Memory 8 GB DDR3
1600Mhz
Case Corsair Graphite 600T
Power Supply Corsair 650 Watt Modular
HDD SATA 6Gb / s 240GB SSD
SATA 6Gb / s 1TB HDD
Wifi TP-Link PCI Express
Graphics Card GeForce GTX 770 2GB GDDR52048MB GDDR5 256bit
Base Clock: 1046 MHz
Boost Clock: 1085 MHz
Memory Clock: 7010 MHz
CUDA Cores: 1536

I would like to ask a couple of things:
1) The Wifi card is essential to take or that inserted into the motherboard is sufficient?
2) The graphics card is compatible with all Operating Systems also the latest versions?
Is it okay for HD editing?

3) I have a red WD 1tb sata hdd is compatible right?
4) It will be necessary a water cooler?
5) The power supply: is necessary to take the recommended or ok any one 650 W?
6) Can I take any kind of case, it's true?

Thanks for the advice that you give me!

@Turk73

You'll be able to find everything you need to know about that build here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/golden-bu...d-ga-z87x-oc-i7-4770k-hd4600-gt-640-a-51.html

The graphics card is different but everything still applies to your proposed build.
A GTX 770 will be compatible with most any program you'll run.

The main differences between the OC and the OC-Force is that the latter has the wifi/BT card
and more Sata3 ports. If you'll mainly use ethernet for networking it may be better to go
with the OC version of this motherboard. Don't believe the Wifi part of the card that is included
will work but the bluetooth does if you'll need that. The TP-Link 4800 would be another option
for wifi.

Thank you very much for your reply!
Now I'll see if I can reduce a little the total expenditure.
One question: the motherboard does not need to have all the memory banks occupied it?
Can I take 16GB and then add 2 more schools in the future if I need it?

Good idea, just buy two of the 8GB sticks and put them in the two slots that
your motherboard manual specifies. Add two more of the same later on if
you need more.

Perfect additional 160 € saved for college for my daughter!

I've seen a 256GB SSD HDD to 144 € but it is a not an Extreme but a Ultra Plus, can you tell me if it is compatible so I take it immediately to the place of the one that recommended (which costs 80 € more)

SanDisk Memory Solid State SSD Ultra Plus, 256 GB, Black

The Ultra Plus is a suitable replacement if you need to save some money.

OK then a couple of questions and then to the hardware are in place (we will laugh for the software part)

At the moment the configuration is this:

CPU
Core i5-4670K 3.4 Ghz
4 Cores / 4 Threads
Turbo Unlocked for Overclocking
5MB L3 Cache
84W Max TDP
Mother Board
Gigabyte Z87X-OC
Socket 1150
Z87 Express DDR3
S-ATA 600
ATX
Haswell
GiGABYTE UEFI Dual BIOS
Memory
Corsair CMZ32GX3M4A1600C9
16GB DDR3 1600Mhz (2x8GB)
Hdd Western Digital WD10EFRX RED HardDisk 1tb
SSD SanDisk SSD Ultra Plus, 256 GB, Nero

I just have to choose the graphics card: I thought the GTX 760
There are big differences between: gtx760 and gtx 770 ASUS (- € 153)
But the MSI N770 TF 2GD5/OC only 308 € :banghead:

The brands that you suggest: ASUS, EVGA, Gigabyte, MSI, there is not much difference?

While we are on the last doubt, the power supply should I look at something in particular or just that it is from 650/700 watts?

As far as brand of graphics card it's mostly personal preference and which
company has the best customer support if you ever need to return it
under warranty. The 760 should be good enough. If you can fit a 770 into
your budget that is even better.

For a power supply 650 W should also work well for you. Make sure to get
one that is at least Bronze rated. Gold rated is preferable.

Today I get the pc, then post the whole configuration with related photos.
A stupid question iBoot, Unibest and multibeast I can put them on USB with windows or linux or should I use a mac they do not work?

NB: in the end I made the top configuration with i7, gtx770: D

iBoot can only be burned to a cd. Put Unibeast on a cleanly formatted USB stick. You can add
Multibeast to it after that. You can only use a Mac or CustoMac to make the Unibeast drive.
