There are 1.2.8d9 GenericUSBXHCI.kext built for Yosemite and others (same version) built for Mavericks. You have to know whether you have one for Yosemite or not. Your response indicates you may not know the difference.

My build is universal and works on Lion(10.7.5) -> Yosemite. You are not running my build, so there is no way for me to tell whether you have one for Yosemite or one for Mavericks.

Yosemite questions should be asked in the Yosemite forum.

Hi everyone,

I'm newbie and trying to install OS Yosemite on my ASUS Q501LA-BSI5T19 laptop, I follow this guide on github from someone here -->

https://github.com/RanbirAulakh/Asus-Q501LA-Hackintosh/wiki

I got into Clover boot screen but cannot get the installer to come up ?!
Error with "7 error-reporting"

Did you ever get yours working? I'm using the guide / files from the repo conradolpz posted and I'm getting the same error. Using a USB 3.0 flash drive for the install... maybe thats it?

You should avoid USB3 sticks. Use a USB2 8GB stick, if possible.
Just realized I had changed some BIOS settings which were giving me KP during boot: vram allocation (was: 128 should be: 64) and power save when off (was: off should be: on). Yosemite is installing now

EDIT: Everything is working perfectly, including sleep!!! Huge thanks to everyone here. For future reference I used the guide here: https://github.com/RanbirAulakh/Asus-Q501LA-Hackintosh/wiki , but instead of manually creating the EFI partition and copying the contents of EFI.zip, I just ran the clover installer on the Yosemite USB drive, and copied the files to the EFI partition created that way instead. Not sure why but that was the only way the USB stick would boot for me (ended up using a 16gb usb 2.0 i found).

The other thing I had to do, after I transferred over my data via time machine / migration assistant, was delete the airport preferences. Wifi would not connect until I did that.

Is anybody getting terrible UI lag after updating to 10.10.2? I've done what my little knowledge on the subject allows me to to no avail. Any help is appreciated. I think it's safe to say it's a GPU driver issue.

It is a video driver issue. I tried trying to get it to work but had no luck and reverted back to 10.10.1.
