Had a Kernel Panic. Safe mode (-x) did not work, but Single-user (-s) did boot.

Can anyone elaborate on the difference between the two?

Safe mode - loads minimal drivers and GUI
Single user mode - command line, no GUI

You cannot use Safe Mode http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455 to boot a hackintosh because Safe Mode disables all third-party extensions which will include those installed by MultiBeast that are needed to boot the computer.

Single-user mode http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1492 works fine, however.

Thanks.

I've noticed that Safe-mode hasn't been working. Single-user has been good to me. I've been relying on it due to VoodooHDA-related Kernel Panics.

I'm trying to get the audio running on 10.7.2, but not having luck. Or, rather, it does work, but, upon reboot, I get the Panics. Should I re-run the Easybeast process in Multibeast to get things straight?
