Booting in 64 bit issues

When i flag arch=x86_64 on chimera bootloader, OS boots in in 64 bit but after changing arch=i386 to arch=x86_64 in the boot.plist i get a kernel panic on boot
little confused as to why

Delete the boot.plist. Run MultiBeast and select:
System Utilities
Go down to Kexts and Bootloaders to Customizations. Select the 64-bit boot screen if you are using Graphics enabler=yes (or the 64-bit graphics enabler=no if your gfx card doesn't require GE) and install it. Reboot.
