Yes and Yes

I printed out the guide and have installed and re-installed a number of times.Same result every time.

Again my machine is a 4430s, i5 with 4 gb ram
If I understand correctly the only real difference between the 4530 and 4430 is the size.right?

And it finally works!
On my final install attempt, I installed everything on the HP pro book installer except the Ethernet kext and everything booted perfectly.I installed the ethernet on the second boot and everything still works/boots fine!
Thanks to everyone for their help !

The only thing not working on the laptop is wifi. Is there any way to check what wifi card your system has?
