Bluetooth not detected after update

Hi!

I've been using an old 3COM USB Bluetooth adapter (3CREB96).
It has been working perfectly for around a year now.
But yesterday, after installing the 2015-002, latest command line tools and Xcode updates on 10.9.5, it stopped working entirely.
It's not even listed at all with the system_profiler SPUSBDataType command.

However, booting the machine to Ubuntu and running lsusb lists it just perfectly:

And it works just as it should. I've tried everything from changing USB-ports to different cables, it's just not showing up at all.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to debug this some more? Are there any other commands to list USB devices than system_profiler SPUSBDataType?

Update:
Just checked and IOBluetoothFamily.kext has changed in the update. Trying to revert to the old one and see if it works.

Nope.
Reverting didn't help at all.
It isn't showing on the USB list at all. Weirdly enough, other adapters are showing up.

Is there some blacklist of USB PIDs and VIDs somewhere?
