The Buyer's Guide listed the LG 14x Blu-Ray rewriter (model WH14NS40) as compatible hardware. Mine doesn't show up under "Disc Burning" ("No disc burning device was found. If the device is external, make sure it’s connected and turned on."), nor under "SATA/SATA Express". I plugged the SATA into the motherboard and power into the power supply.
Am I missing a step? Do I need to install a driver or something?

System: High Sierra; Gigabyte LGA 1151 Z170; i7-770K processor; 32GB DDR4 RAM; Corsair Carbide 330R case; Corsair RM650x power supply.

Did you install the "3rd Party SATA" driver in MultiBeast? If not, I'll be curious to know if that fixes your issue. I'm having some problems with my Pioneer Blu-ray (disc not ejecting, for one thing) and am considering the LG WH14NS40 that you have.

Actually, it turned out that I had a bad SATA port on my motherboard. When I swapped ports, one of my hard drives disappeared, so I figured out which port was bad. Once I plugged the optical drive into a good port, it showed up just fine. Thanks for the reply!
