black screen on boot using DisplayPort 980ti

anyone knows how to make my DisplayPort as a main video output? I get black screen until OS boots up unless I use HDMI... thanks

That shouldn't happen, sounds like a bug in UEFI to me. Are you booting with CSM enabled or disabled?

Nvidia does not show POST on all connected screens like AMD does, is your hdmi/other DP connected to another device?
I got 2 monitors connected with DP and only one shows POST (on a 980ti)

try another DP on your card?

yup. only the first one port worked the rest only after boot. sweet & easy fix thanks

Try going into bios and disabling the internal Intel graphics so it boots only with the pice graphics card. You might have to do that using cdmi and then switch to DP for Mac

Ok, so I had this exact problem with a Dell U2715H... After many hours of trying everything and still only getting HDMI to work, I unplugged the cable and discovered to my surprise that it has a display port in and a display port out... yes... I had the cable plugged into the wrong display port... Hope this saves some of you the hours I put in!
