I'm using OpenCore v0.6.2 and the max resolution I'm getting is 1080p. My motherboard supports 4k@60hz with the DP and 4k@24hz with HDMI. What's the problem? Do I need to enable HDMI 2.0?

I tried the following in my boot args but nothing worked:
-cdfon (and enable-hdmi20 property) to enable HDMI 2.0 patches.
-igfxmlr boot argument (and enable-dpcd-max-link-rate-fix property) to apply the maximum link rate fix.
-igfxhdmidivs boot argument (and enable-hdmi-dividers-fix property) to fix the infinite loop on establishing Intel HDMI connections with a higher pixel clock rate on SKL, KBL and CFL platforms.

Can Intel HD 630 do 4K on macOS Big Sur? Can it do 4K on macOS at all? This is the first time I've tried it after doing a fresh install of Big Sur. I used to use the NVIDIA web drivers with my GTX 1070 and macOS High Sierra ofc that's not an option now though. Should I just get a AMD RX 560?

Thank you for reading, any help would be very much appreciated.

I have the same issue.

The scaling options are in System Preferences -> Display not the About this mac display section. 4K though nice! That's what I want to see haha can you post your OpenCore config?

Thanks! When I use your EFI I get this screen on boot. I noticed your system definition is different than mine. You're using iMac Pro 1,1. I'll try changing mine to that and see if it works.

For me, changing the system definition to iMacPro 1,1 solved the problem where the screen would go black one second after the desktop appeared. Previously I could get the desktop back by turning the monitor off and then on again.
Still no 4k though.

Hi everbody,
Having the same issue here on my new config.
4K UHD display recognized as 2560 x 1440 (QHD/WQHD - Wide Quad High Definition), no way to upgrade this with ResXtreme or SwitchResX.

Did you find a solution for your problem ?

Using DisplayPort since I have no image with HDMI...

HDMI 1.4 only do 4k24, MacOS does not works with 24hz, hence only 1440p.
Try DP or if really need HDMI 2.0 use a LSPCON chip.

I am using the DisplayPort cable, so there should be no issue... must be something in the config file, were you able to resolve your problem ?
I am using an UHD Samsung Display, no problem with my previous MacBook Pro.
