Hello,
I did read that some forum posts :
- https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/wi-fi-and-bluetooth-cards-for-laptops-with-mac-os-os-x.97099/

I am looking for a OOB USB low profile dongle that can do USB and Bluetooth.

Any of you knows which one is recommended for Sierra and High Sierra?

Thanks

You might look at the Buyer's Guide.
But USB WiFi/BT is not recommended.
Better to install supported PCIe WiFi.

Hi RehabMan and thanks again for helping. :)

I opened by Zenbook UX305UA-FB004T and the wifi card is soldered to it, and it is an intel... I was soooo disapointed with that, but I have to deal with it.

The only option left is the USB option.

Some people had luck with EDIMAX.

I am not sure that my touchpad will work too so that is why I am considering bluetooth. (As we speak I am donig an install - and did 15 installs at least the last 2 days...)

And now your opinion ;-)

Laptops with soldered WiFi and/or restrictive BIOS whitelists make poor choices for hackintosh...

RehabMan believe me I did some digging before buying it. But ASUS gives hardly no description of what is in the computer.
I saw that some people had it working on this forum so I went for it. Unfortunately it is a slightly different version.
I already had Sierra installed yesterday but without keyboard and TouchPad. I am now working on it...

So can you recommend me a dongle? I dont really mind of the wifi speed as long as there is a good support for it...

As already mentioned, read the Buyer's Guide.

As already mentioned, read the Buyer's Guide.

The Guide does not say anything except that some USB are compatible.
I just would like to buy the same device as the community to make my life easier...

Q. Can I use USB WiFi instead?

There are USB WiFi devices compatible with OS X (look for devices with up-to-date OS X drivers), but they are not recommended.

The user-interface is poor and they tend to cause instability, especially with sleep.

Much better results with a compatible PCIe WiFi device (see question above).

It doesn't seem like you're looking at the Buyer's Guide. There may be suggestions in there...

And you might find other suggestions if you use search...

I have no experience with any combo USB WiFi/BT. I used an Edimax EW-7811Un for a while (WiFi only) and it was a horrible experience.

Thanks for having a look, but they are not low profile... I will get the Edimax I think.

I am now thinking of reselling this laptop. I got it 3 days ago...
Because according to another guide, USB wifi means a no go for AppStore, imessage... is that still like this on Sierra?
