Hey,
I have analog audio working ( ) using the LegacyHDA 889a 6 output kext from Multibeast and Tony's stock DSDT. I have three outputs listed in Sound. If I connect my orange port on the back to a single analog input set of speakers I have sound when I set the first "line out" option in sound.
To me it looks like there are 6 ports on my board so I went with that.

Is there a "better" solution that enables the digital out? It sounds like if you want to go digital there is a $25 USB device that is probably the simplest way to do that.

But I couldn't find cheap speakers that take an optical out. Any one know of any?
