Ok, so i've been thinking alot about this, and i really want a hackintosh, its the first time i build one. Here are the components im planning to buy, if they are not compatible, tell me, and maybe give me a suggestion:

-Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128405
-CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115215
-Ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231189
-Graphics Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121339

I'm pretty sure that the motherboard and the cpu work, since tony uses it. Thank you for your help in advance, i really appreciate it. Paul.

Everything you posted will work, but... If you can afford it...
I'd up the RAM to G.Skill Eco 1600 (CL7 preferably, or CL9)
The GPU is quite weak, you might want to consider a 9600 or 9800.

BTW, which cooler do you plan on using ? (Hint: Skip the Intel stock one, and get a good one)

Edit: You didn't specify a PSU... Don't skimp on that one !

PS: Tony, all [newegg] links are broken...

the UD2 is fine, it'll work well with the i5, just don't plan on really overclocking unless you want to get an aftermarket cooling solution.

RAM is ok. Really I don't feel any difference with G.Skill's eco series, but go ahead if it makes you feel like you saved a tree :)

Um.. you can stick with that graphics card, just don't plan on playing any games released after 2006. Unless it's a new version of Pac Man.

I definitely agree with Lnx2Mac on the PSU. The brands I recommend are Antec, Seasonic, and Corsair.

...and are ready to fry your UD2...
There are lots of comments on fried UD2s, even in this forum.

:D

Worth mentioning that when the GPU in my son's PC fried, I temporarily got him a Palit 9400GT...
I was surprised to see he was able to play some FPS games at quite some good graphics level...

Thanks for the reply, i appreciate it, i am not planing to play any games, i want to do video production, graphic design, websites, etc..

Heres the PSU: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817339036

Is it good? what u recommend for a low budget?

Im not trying to go over budget. Im not planing to overclock so should i still buy a cpu cooler? if yes wich one. Not too expensive tho. Paul.

If you're on a budget then keep the motherboard.. I actually didn't know that the UD2's fried so thanks for that Lnx2Mac, but Paul I'm pretty sure that you will get a replacement if it isn't your fault that it fried.

And yeah you'll be able to play stuff like Counter Strike if that's what you mean Lnx2Mac (it IS an FPS game :p )

You don't need aftermarket cooling.

Really, for your computer, if you simply max out everything it should only get to like =350 watts, and you're going for a 780 watt power supply from a not-well-known brand. It's way better to get like 400-500 watts from a good brand. In my book, those would be: Seasonic, Antec, Corsair, in order of quality.
Anything from those 3 brands within your price range and around 400-500 watts should be good. Over 500 watts is when things start to get expensive.

Also, I found a really good deal on a Corsair power supply. It's 400 watts and regularly sells for $65. Now it's on sale for $20 with promo code "BIGSAVE".

It just seems like an older model, so it's your choice whether to go with it or not. I can't say it's not a good deal, though.

My motherboard works with 1600 ram?

You will have to overclock it... If you're not comfortable doing that, get 1333. The speed difference isn't too noticeable.
