Bad news for GIGABYTE Z170 series motherboards!

New GigaByte Motherboard Series are MSR(0xE2) Locked

They now set bit-15 on MSR (MSR_PKG_CST_CONFIG_CONTROL) so it won’t boot without a PM patch.

This is from Piker´s alpha research.

He tested 6 GA motherboards from cheap ones to the good ones.

Maybe its time for asus rule the easy install field.

Easily handled by config.plist/KernelAndKextPatches/KernelPm=true.

I have a Gigabyte GA-H170N wifi i5 6600k with clover bootloader El Capitan 10.11.1 and latest nvidia drivers.I am not sure if msr is locked but have kernelpm true.
Can someone in the know tell me what my issue is?.This is as far as I can get.
