Audio was working perfectly before upgrade to 10.8.5

My system was working great for many months until after the update. My audio selection under MB was the ALC 889 with no issues. The only issue I have thus far after the upgrade is no audio, all else works fine.

Is there a mod that to the ALC889 driver kext that has to be changed? I believe in my prior boot file, the NPCI=3000 or NPCI=2000 was not set. I am using the Chamelon Wizzard to examine the boot file.

Thanks, any suggestions would be so gratefully appreciated. Really do not want to reload system, no TM backup shame on me!

The update installs the native AppleHDA.kext.

I have the same board and can't get my audio working. I've tried every fix I can find. Are you using a DSDT? If so, can you post it?
