Audio Voodoo

I had the correct Voodoo kext for my computer, everything worked fine, but when i upgraded to os x el capitan, an old kext i used to have was in there, and i removed it because it made the speakers hiss, and it still does (i believe it is Voodoo 2.8.7) and whenever i try to install the one that works (v2.7.3) it tells me that the operating system failed. I tell it to continue, but then it tells me the download failed. I am using an asus maximus vii impact.
