I have been using toleda's cloverALC patch through several iterations of MacOS without any trouble. It has been fine for several weeks with High Sierra: however I am now not getting any audio devices listed in Sound preferences.
I had a system freeze on the Mac screensaver and reset the computer which went into a restart loop so clear CMOS, reload BIOS defaults and boot up, all ok. Sound working as normal but after a few hours all audio devices are gone.
Removed all the clover patches and installed native AppleHDA then patched again as per toleda's instructions: no audio devices....
I can see everything is ok using DPCI Manager, audio ID is 1 but nothing is listed in sound prefs.
audio_codecdetect reports
File: audio_codecdetect.command_v2.2
HDMI audio codec(s
Onboard audio codec
Realtek: 0x10ec0900
Name: Realtek ALC1150
Audio ID: 1
Valid audio codec, audio device and Audio ID; audio injection is working
I even used the APFS snapshots feature to roll back the system to a known working state: no audio devices.
I can dual boot Clover into windows and the audio works fine.
Bizarre behaviour?
