Multibeast 2.1.3 has drivers for 5xxx no?
Doesn't work?
MultiBeast 2.1.4 only supports 57xx, 58xx and 59xx cards. To support any other cards we will need netkas to update ATY_Init or Chameleon to add ATI 5xxx support.

Unrelated question.

The 5670 card is natively supported in Snow Leopard, is it not ? Apple's iMac page lists it as an option:

http://www.apple.com/imac/performance.html

I am trying to select components for a custom rig, and found the following on newegg:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLi ... IsNodeId=1

What is with all the rebranding ? An ATI Radeon HD 5670 is an ATI Radeon HD 5670, no matter whether XFX or Sapphire, or whoever puts some coloured plastic on it, right ?

You can probably tell that I am not a gamer. I do however, want the best and best supported card that I can afford for my new rig.

I have the same problem too! Please provide an appropriate kext to get full resolution!

Thanks in advance!

Is there another card like the 5450 that is fanless, cheap and can power 2 monitors? I need one for a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). Apparently, the problem that I am currently having is related to the nvidia card that I have installed.

if it work tell me (works under latest chimera 1.5.4)(worked for me)
:ch: Add your Device ID to ATi5000controller.kext and ATiReadeonx3000.kext.
(GO to System/Library/Extensions then show package contents then Contents then add you dev id to info.plist under <key>IOPCIMatch</key> mine is 0x68F91002 ).
:ch: Change GraphicsEnabler to Yes.
:ch: Delete all ati config and ati rom flags that found in org.chameleon.plist and injectors if found.
:ch: Don't use patched DSDT.
:ch: Working in booth 32/64 bit and VGA.
:ch: Don't use adapters (VGA to DVI)(DVI to HDMI).
BOOOM fully recognized ati 5450 512mb and working frame buffer (working dvd player & powerpoint )
Chameleon & Lion supports the entire 5000 GPU family directly.
may your audio kext causes kernel panic because of HDMI port ,in this case you can boot by GraphicsEnabler=No to install another audio to work with your HDMI port.

It is simple nowadays:

Download the ATI5000injector kext:
http://www.mediafire.com/?78ae8gc80jgr7hu

Extract and put in Extra/Extensions and reboot. You likely also have to have GraphicsEnabler = yes in your plist file in Extra. You most likely have to use Chimera (Chameleon) bootloader. Multibeast can turn you on to that.

Got this info from Insanely: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/lofive ... 68165.html

I'm running on 10.6.8. Installed via iBoot + Multibeast + UpdateHelper. Used Multibeast to put DSDT for my GigaByte GA-H61N-USB3 in and installed Chimera. I think I also had to install Realtek driver to get net access. Don't care about sound yet.
Video works fine at least through DVI-VGA via adapter. Can't vouch for HDMI.

Wish me luck for updating to 10.7.2. Every time I have tried before was KP, but I haven't tried it since I got video going. Insanely thread says Lion is not problem.

< This part can be safely ignored - but it is amusing! >
Only trouble was I moved ATI500injector kext over via USB flash drive. I extracted
the file on my windows machine and it called the folder it extracted to ATI5000injector.kext. So I had a kext inside a kext ... I was clued in by the notes I dropped in there for myself when I moved it over. No wonder my hackintosh had not a clue what to do with it! :banghead:

Working with the ATI5000injector BUT
the fonts are not displaying correctly. The fonts are sharp in the center of the screen but not on the sides. The font smoothing is not even. How can i configure and where ?
