I am not new to technology, have been a systems engineer and systems administrator for the last 2 decades, but I'm fairly new to the hackintosh scene. And this is my first post here.

I built (successfully) a new hackintosh based on the z68x-ud3h-b3 thanks to all your help a few weeks back and ran into the usual problems with bluetooth and wireless. The bluetooth adapter would have to be repaired with my devices each time so I decided to follow this article - http://news.hitb.org/content/adding-ori ... hackintosh - and would highly recommend it. Worked perfectly. Also decided to go ahead and get an apple native wifi card with an adapter:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/280699533231?ss ... 721wt_1413

because the edimax ew-7811un i bought was not working great and didn't use the built in airport utility.

So the parts arrived and I inserted the card into the adapter (seated well) and installed into this perfectly running machine. The machine takes about 30-45 seconds to get to desktop from complete shutdown without the card in, and once I installed it... about 10 minutes. Airport utility still does not show up, and in the system information under network-wifi I have some information. However am completely unable to attach to my network as there is no noticeable way to.

I thought it may be the old drivers interfering so I uninstalled the utility and drivers from before, but still nothing.

Please help. I'm at my wits end. :banghead: Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I have build a custom mac wit this mb
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/produc ... x?pid=3782
10.6x to 10.7.2 work ok, till i try the same wi-fi card with pci-e to mini-pci-e adapter.
Without wi-fi card my system boot in ~40 seconds but with card, it stay ~120 second and when desktop show, my mouse can move normally but i can't click anything, like my desktop is totally freeze, my keyboard is blocked too, i have try with HD3000 or 8400GS, same result...

If i boot system with linux, all working fine and fast, no freeze, or boot latency.

Anyone have an idea, what to try ...

Thanx for all.
Best regards.

Hi there,

I have similar issues.
Build works nicely - thanks to all the help and descriptions!

After inserting A Dell DW1525 WLAN card, also known as Atheros AR5BDT92, boot is extremely slow if it works at all.
The card is supposed to have an Atheros Chip AR9280, and that is supposed to work oob, right?
After removal of the card, everything is fine again.

Well - and after putting it back in after getting it to work with Windoze, it now seems to work! Great...
It does show up as Bluetooth PAN and not as a wireless card though. Any way to change that?

Cheers,
Rudolf

I am having the same issue. My card doesnt get detected. Its also causing the boot to tak forever and at logon I cant click anything for a minute or so but i can move the mouse. This is on a Dell Studio XPS 8100.

Did you end up finding solution?

I have the same card.Mounted and operating properly. Then the machine could not recognized the card.I removed the RealtekRTL81xx.kext(Linx2mac).I installed the Realtek official kext from Multibeast and everything is working properly.Worth a try.
