Hello, everyone. This is my first post. Sorry for my English.
I see that 0mar32 from http://www.insanelymac.com
http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/293310-ar5001x-ar5212-ar5213-mavericks-problem/
had a problem very similar to mine. For another version of OSX, but I think they are interchangeable.
I have an old device PCI wi-fi Atheros AR5001X+ Wireless Network Adapter [168c: 0013] (rev 01). Under 10.8.5 / Mountain lion / I have no problems.
I have installed Yosemite 10.10 on other hard disc. Controller recognizes it. In the About This Mac/Ethernet Cards shows exactly the same as displayed in 10.8.5.
The problem is that I am constantly failing to switch the controller “On”. In System Preferences / Network / Status always sits always "off". Even in the "Assist me ..." the System fails to switch it “On”.
I know that old controllers PCI are not supported after Mavericks has been released, but the fact that it recognizes gives me hope.
I suppose only a slight correction is needed but I'm not so experienced with the OSX.
Has anyone a similar problem? Any suggestions ?
