You need to install a bootloader if you expect to boot OS X.

Yes I understand, but after having runned the installer there is no way to boot to the harddisk and thus no way to install a boot loader. I even tryed installing a linux (debian 7) to make it install a bootloader but that even failed at that step in the install proces.

did I just brick the system?

Use your USB.

I am now at the point where I am trying to get the right SSDT.

But ssdtPRGen.sh is a little hard to understand for me.

The picture shows that I have a board 94245B3640C91C81 which corresponds to Sandy Bridge MacBookPro8,1 94245B3640C91C81 HD3k Use for internal display on Core i-based laptops

But as my info in the comment shows I actually have a Ivy Bridge.

On the picture you see the top of ssdtPRGen.sh output, the wiki and the result of the SMBios from Chameleon Wizard. I know the tutorial from RehabMan says that if your processor ends on "U" I should choose macbook air 5,2 . But I am confused here... Will the ssdtPRGen.sh somehow combine the info on my board, the ivy bridge processor and the MacBook name to a working DDST?

Now what? How do i generate the right SSDT with this info?

Wish everyone a nice weekend.

You have three different computers. You can't use the same SSDT for them.

According to your signature, your ASUS is Ivy/7-series. Not sure why you think that is Sandy...

Maybe I was unclear.

I do not think I can use generic settings for all! I dont think the zenbook has Sandy!

All I am saying is that the info i gathered pointed in different directions.

And I dont understand how to use ssdtPRGen.sh

I will ask on Pikers site about it...

For use of ssdtPRgen.sh: https://github.com/Piker-Alpha/ssdtPRGen.sh

Bottom line: MacBookPro8,1 is definitely the wrong smbios for your Zenbook.

Hi all.

I have now done the set the following:
Ran Multicast DSDT-Free and installed AppleIntelCPUPowerMAnagement
Sat SMBios to MacBookAir5,2
used ssdtPRGen to create the ssdt.aml file.
Tested with DPCIManager and IORegistryExplorer (see picture)

But when ever i try to add GenerateCStates=No, GeneratePStates=No and DropSSDT=Yes in the boot.plist the system will not start. It halts at the pci part. Right after AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement...

So my question is. Can i assume the power Management is working now?

And why does the system hang when i use that boot.plis?

It does not appear to be working...

If you need a look...

Download patchmatic: https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-MaciASL-patchmatic.
Extract the 'patchmatic' binary from the ZIP. Copy it to /usr/bin, such that you have the binary at /usr/bin/patchmatic.

In terminal,
Code:
rm -Rf ~/Downloads/RehabMan
mkdir ~/Downloads/RehabMan
cd ~/Downloads/RehabMan
patchmatic -extract

Post contents of Downloads/RehabMan directory (as ZIP).

Also, post ioreg: http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/58368-guide-how-make-copy-ioreg.html. Please, use the IORegistryExplorer v2.1 attached to the post! DO NOT reply with an ioreg from any other version of IORegistryExplorer.app.
