Hi, anybody has managed to get Mavericks or Yosemite on g751JY with 980m ?
Which guides to follow?
This should be my first installation and I am quite lost.
I did some early boot kernel patches and now last things I see are few sound assertion in applehdadriver..
after which and few minutes delay system reboots.

Will appreciate any help.
Thanks

Start with following the Clover guide linked by the FAQ.

Thanks, that moved me forward.
I think I have followed the Booting the OS X installer on LAPTOPS with Clover quite well, and I get to the installer. I chose config_HD3000_1600x900_7series.plist as it seemed the closest (i7 CPU, and full HD resolution).

however, I seem to have similar problem to the one described in Mavericks & Windows 8 on same drive without erasing
I have my existing windows and linux installations, and empty space prepared for mac. (about 86GB).Partition table is gpt. When I have tried with existing partition without type, to erase it, I had the error saying that there is not enough space. When I tried without any partition, just empty space, then in the disk tool, it seemed too long then I just created the parition and kept other in the "partition" section. I could not access the longs. When I tried to format the partition in linux using HFS+J, the partition was seen by the installer, but it did not want to get installed on it..
When I tried to format it as ntfs, it was locked for installer. (as expected) and Erasing it did not succeed, just like before..

Wrong config.plist. Your laptop does not have HD3000.

Your EFI is probably too small. There is a link from the Clover guide regarding this...

I thought my laptop does not either have any other HD*, but there were only HD* configs..

So the Disk Utility was complaining about the EFI partition? It has only about 100MB. It was there when I got the windows.. And there is a windows reserved parition next to it.
Well then I will try to move the partitions few MBs..

It will not work with a 100mb EFI. There can also be a host of other issues with a disk partitioned by Windows instead of Disk Utility.

It is covered quite well here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/multi-booting/133940-mavericks-windows-8-same-drive-without-erasing.html

yeah, you definitely know what you are talking about..

well, it is installed now.. thanks

one thing is probably easy to solve but the most annoying - no network..

this is my ETH
3c:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 10)

and if wifi would be supported too then I'd of course like it, but it does not say as much as for eth
3b:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Wireless 7260 (rev bb)

would multibeast help here, maybe?

Hi all,

anyone here got 970m or 980m working? i have almost everything working on a similar laptop, but can not get my laptop screen working if I dont have another external display plugged in. Anyone with similar problems, or did you get it working ok? could we maybe exchange clover configurations so we could compare? Thanks!

I have the same laptop as Verliba, Asus Rog G751 with 980m working on Yoesemite. I followed this guide as a basis.

http://www.osx86.net/forums/topic/23616-g751jt-monster-of-hackintosh-laptop-guide/

Also, in response to the wifi card, the intel duo wireless card is not compatible so for my laptop, I had to replace it with this model BCM94352z, more information here
