Need help because hackintosh freeze at reboot (or at shutdown)
card: ASUS PRIME Z390-A

Clover 5126 is installed on my hackintosh

with following drivers/UEFI :

• ApfsDriverLoader.efi
• AppleAPFS.efi
• AudioDxe.efi
• DataHubDxe.efi
• FSInject.efi
• HFSPlus.efi
• OpenRuntime.efi
• SMCHelper.efi

with following kexts/Other :

• AppleALC.kext
• IntelMausi.kext
• Lilu.kext
• SMCSuperIO.kext
• SMCProcessor.kext
• USBPorts.kext
• VirtualSMC.kext
• WhateverGreen.kext
• XHCI-unsupported.kext

but the update fails beach my hackintosh freezes at reboot

PS : it also freezes at shutdown

I have a similar problem. I also have an ASUS prime z390-a and when I attempted to install the big sur update it seemingly freezes on boot. I eventually realized that it doesn't actually freeze, but take a VERY LONG TIME to get to the clover boot menu (or BIOS or anything). If I choose the big sur install option it seemingly freezes for real. I left it for at least an hour and nothing happened. If I choose to boot Catalina it will boot into Catalina and operate otherwise normally. I haven't put much time into troubleshooting it yet but I wanted to get on this thread to see if anyone else might have any insight on how to resolve. I'll try to troubleshoot this weekend or early next week.

Hello,

I stopped my researches this last few days because I was unable to access the bios settings. Finally it came back after unmounting my windows drive. I will continue and I have seen these links, may be it is the moment to switch from clover to open core (?)

I continue to test thing but without any success. During these tests, I have faced a strange problem: I couldn't access anymore to the BIOS Settings and I had to remove my Windows SSD disk to recover that settings.

After replacing Clover 5127 With opencore 0.6.4, I could install MacOs 11.1 and it runs.

I continue to test thing but without any success. During these tests, I have faced a strange problem: I couldn't access anymore to the BIOS Settings and I had to remove my Windows SSD disk to recover that settings.

I successfully install OpenCore 0.6.4 then install Mac OS Big Sur 11.1 everything is working correctly. For the access to the Bios Setting, the problem was coming from the NVRam. After Reseting it, I could have access to the BIOS.
