Comments:

I built this system, with a budget in mind, for moderate gaming and video editing. I saw the Thermaltake case at my local Micro Center and fell in love.

I originally went in to check out a MicroATX motherboard/CPU configuration, but the rep. who was helping me informed me of a MC promo for an Ivy Bridge setup. Once I saw the price for the setup, I was sold.

After much research, there wasn't a lot of builds with this motherboard/CPU setup, so the install did take about 10 hours to figure out. However, the system is up and running. Please note that the "Sleep" feature is currently not functioning if chosen through the "Apple Menu". However, the system does sleep if the system does not receive input after the time chosen in "System Preferences".

Hey sorry to bother you. Do you have Mute working on this motherboard?

hi
did you expect any troubles before the installation?
I cant get my Stick to boot the installer.:(
It just says something like : boot0: dona1fs ans stops

have any tipps?

Sorry to revive this older thread, but I have almost the exact same build as you, except for the hard drive, case and power supply.

I am trying to install Mountain Lion and was wondering if you have a dsdt file? i keep trying to compile mine via MaciASL and keep getting 2 error codes:

Error (Code 6105): Invalid Object Type for reserved name(_CRS: Found Integer, Buffer required)
Warning (Code 3128): ResourceTag larger than Field (Size mismatch, Tag: 64 bits, Field: 32 bits)

I was wondering if you have any suggestions to help me solve this issue. I have yet to run Multibeast, but if you think I can use the machine without the DSDT file, then please let me know.

Thanks,

jspartan

I run the same MOBO and DSDT free. Check out my build in my recent posts.

Hi ekvinslam,

Thank you a ton for your post as I now know what settings to use when using Multibeast! I read your build log and saw you patched your bios.

Can you explain how to do that and where to get the patch file (Link)? (I tried to look for a bios patch, but didn't find one for our version of the mobo.) Also, how would I patch the bios because I read that the EZ flash method doesnt work? Finally, does the bios patch affect any windows settings as I still would like to be able to use Windows (I have a separate hard drive for win7)?

However, thank-you a ton for showing me what correct settings to apply. I genuinely appreciate it.

EDIT: So, i used PMPatch and got a modded bios file which i have on a clean usb stick. Now, I only have 2 questions:
1. How did you update the bios? Can i use EZ Flash or is there another way to do it (if so, please explain) ?
2. Do I need to rename the file? I read that using EZ Flash means I don't have to, but what if I need to use another method?

I used FTK flasher, I don't exactly remember what I did, but I downloaded the latest official bios from the asus website, patched with pmpatch, stuck it on a usb created with ftk flasher and then I flashed it. I don't remember if I had to rename it or anything, I think I did, but I don't remember. There is a guide somewhere on this forum on the FTK flasher, but I don't know where. Good luck, if you have anymore questions, come to my thread, I don't want to hijack this dude's guide.
