This is the first time I have posted here at tonymacx86.

I have spent countless hours reading posts on how to make a hackintosh. I have even tried to get my laptop setup with OSX but it just wasn't meant to be as it has Intel HD Graphics controller as its video output. The reason I wanted to do this is because I love my Imac 27” but don't love the price tag. Recently I got fair bit of money to spend I was going to buy a Mac mini or build a Hackintosh. I did all the research and it looked like I could build a sandy bridge Mac cheaper than the $599 price tag on the Mac Mini. I did do this for a grand total of $549.00 I already had SL because I was trying to install it on my laptop. I saved my self some money there.

On to what I did and what it took part.
First I hand to boot Iboot 2 times to get SL install to work I learned that it requires
-v to make it work for whatever reason.

I then learned after three instillations I want to backup my SL disc on to a USB drive so it copies faster. I installed SL a total of 5 times before I got it to work correctly and this took an 30-40 minutes per DVD load while USB only took 15 minutes.
I used time capsule/machine once I got smart to backup the installation so I didn't have to keep installing but it was on the 5th try so turns out it wasn't need for that try anyways.

Next I learned about updater and multibeast install practices. I kept getting a failed install or it just wouldn't work or even KPs, Though trial, error, reading; gave me the understanding I was looking for to install the OS. Once armed with all of this It was a peace of cake.

Here is the spec:

I5 2.8Ghz quad core http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6819115076

Kingston HyperX 4GB (I am aware its 1600 and I may only get 1333 performance)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820104166
I wanted memory with cooling plates ok!

SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6670 1g DDR 5 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814102935

ASUS P8H67-M LX (REV 3.0) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813131713

Seagate Barracuda 500GB 7200 RPM 16meg cashe 6.0GB/s sata http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6822148701

I had a case so I just bought a PSU it was a Cooler Master 500w http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6817171031

I was careful to pick my parts so they were as compatible as I could get them. I say this because I wanted this system as of 8/1/2011 and I didn't want to wait for shipping so I bought it all locally. And for it to ship to me by the next business day it would have been 535.22 at Newegg so the add 15 bucks was worth it to have it now. I also had a Sata dvd burner laying around and it saved me there too.

The steps I took to get it working are as fallows:

Pre-setup Sata to ahci (everything else in bois leave alone!)

1. Use Iboot with the -v for the OSX SL

2. Reboot with the Iboot disc use -V on install drive then Used Updatehelper app and
Reboot.

3. Run 10.6.8 update but didn't restart system

4. Run multibeast and selected only the USB/IO kext and closed it on completion.

5. Run multibeast with only the easybeast option selected closed it on completion.

6. let 10.6.8 app restart system (some times 10.6.8 would crash before the end
of multibeast. This is fine just restart the system once you have completed step 4
and 5)

7. Now your able to boot off of the HDD boot to osx and run Multibeast to install
Lnx2Mac network drivers and Voodoo HDA 0.2.72

8. Reboot pre the request of the Lnx2Mac installer

9. Done everything should be working fine

This has been my experience and the only downside is Sleep doesn't work. I am not a pro at this so what I did is disabled all sleep functions the pc is hooked up to my tv and I turn the tv on when I am not using it so I don't care that its always on. One other thing should be noted it calls the video card a Ni40 but it does everything right so not big deal to me.

Thanks for all the helpful forum posts and I hope my post will be helpful to others in their goal to get a Hackintosh.

I was able to get this working but using a BFG nVidia GTX 260

Motherboard is pretty much good to go out of the box. Now if I can find a wireless card that works.

Sad thing is I have 3 at home and none are detected:
1- dlink wda-2320
2- tp-link 951
3- Belkin wireless g network adapter.

Awesome glad to hear this setup works for others as well and with a different video card too. yeah i have a wired network so wifi isn't a deal braker but good luck man.
