Comments
- My PCs have 2 main jobs and those are Graphic Design and Gaming
- Also developing websites with PHP and MySQL but that requires no special hardware =)
- This was my 1st intel and Iam glad that I switched
- CPU is fine for my needs/money and after few AMDs - case seems like a freezer now =)
- Video card works great and keeps silent even with 2 fans
- Had few Gigabyte motherboards before (some great, some not so much) and cause my GPU choice was with Asus I also chose Asus board (almost ironic when I look at it from Hackintosh perspective =P )
- PSU is not loud and only reason I took it cause my older Blue Storm 2 died
- For keyboard and mouse I am using Logitech for more then a decade so I just continued tradition and it works great
Installation was done via UniBeast made Lion USB + MultiBeast for Lion

Sound (ALC887 on board)
audio.png
- This time around I managed to get ALC887 working over ACL8xxHDA + Rollback + 887/888b enabler instead of VoodooHDA 2.7.3! After MultiBeast installation apply kext provided below via kext utility and then restar, worked for me great!
ALC887vdHDA_6Ch_RMic_SPDIF.kext.zip
- Speakers work in 2 ways:
1. Making Aggregate device/Multi-Output device in Audio MIDI Setup or;
2. In my case I got adapter with my speakers + I took RCA to 3.5" cable and connected my speakers like it is shown in the picture below!

GPU
- OpenCL Enabler 10.7.2 and separately installed Cuda 4.1 from nVidia. Modified (after MultiBeast installed and reboot) "info.plist" for NVDAGF100Hal.kext in S/L/E
Code:
<key>NVidiaRM</key>
<dict>
<key>CFBundleIdentifier</key>
<string>com.apple.nvidia.nvGF100hal</string>
<key>IOClass</key>
<string>NVDAGF100HAL</string>
<key>IOMatchCategory</key>
<string>IOService</string>
<key>IOPCIMatch</key>
<string>0x120010de</string> ----- this line replaced all other IDs
<key>IOProbeScore</key>
<integer>60000</integer>
<key>IOProviderClass</key>
<string>IOPCIDevice</string>
</dict>
and modified "org.chameleon.Boot.plist" in /Extra
Code:
<key>PCIRootUID</key>
<string>0</string>
Some benchmarks
CineBench.png
GeekBench.png
- My Windows 7 score is 8112
NET/LAN (Realtek 8111e on board)
- Used Realtek Gigabit Ethernet 2.0.6 for 10.7.kext, result is same as in Windows7
Micronet Bluetooth (bought it long ago, like 2004):
- Works OOB, discovers phones, file transfers...I do not have Magic Mouse to test it on with.

If anyone finds any help in this I am glad =), cheers!
