Asus K53S Snow Leopard Installation

Hello Friends,

I am starting this thread for Asus K53S Notebook which i bought 2 days back and installed MAC OS 10.6.7 10.6.8 in it. I have some partial success but a few things still not working if you guys have this notebook or partial equipments please help on configuring it.

1. i5-2410 (2nd Generation) - worked using cpus=8 busratio=23 at boot prompt although I am not sure that it's right or not. using chimera 1.4.1 no need of defining busratio and vanilla kernel is working fine

2. Bluetooth (not working at all, so disabled from bios)

3. Wireless - used older IO80211Family.kext but range of network is very week. in windows i can access from miles ahead (If anyone have solution to improve range, do post your message)

4. Graphics
Intel 3000 - (not working) Working without QE/CI by updating to 10.6.8 and putting this in com.apple.boot.plist

nvidia GT 520M (not working)

5. Ethernet - (working)

6. Webcam - Detected but showing black screen

If i found any solution i will update on this thread.

Lion may support the Intel HD graphics, or at least that is what I am hoping for. I have read some threads at InsanelyMac where the mobile HD graphics are working with much effort. Honestly, I think I will wait a few more weeks and see what happens.
