I didn't find anything on the forums about this laptop so I wrote this.
I'm about to purchase a new laptop and to have it as hackintosh compatible is important for me. Also gaming is important. Here in Finland we don't have as big selection as some other countries might have so I can't be choosy.
So I was thinking about Asus G501vw-fy031t and its specifications are.
Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-6700HQ Processor 2.6 GHz (6M Cache, up to 3.5 GHz)
Memory: 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 2133Mhz
Hard Drive: 128G mSATA SSD + 1TB 2.5" SATA3 (5400RPM)
Display: 15.6" FullHD IPS LED-matte (1920x1080)
Graphics: Nvidia® GeForce GTX960M 4GB GDDR5
Optical Drive:
Wireless: 802.11ac & Bluetooth 4.0 (WiDi Support)

This machine should have Intel HD 530 because of the processor. And as far as I know didn't the 530 got full support in 10.11.4?
I know for sure that gtx960m wont work because of optimus. (funny question, if there is no intel hd 530 present or enabled, does nvidia have drivers for gtx960m)
I'm planning to replace that Intel card in the future, I've got compatible card in my current laptop.
Whats the status on USB 3.1 Type-C port, can it be enabled?
And since this laptop does not have RJ45 port but instead it comes with usb 2.0 to RJ45 cable, do i need any drivers for this or does it work OOB?
Is there something else that I'm missing? Can this be hackintoshed? I'm planning to order it tomorrow.
