Asus Formula II initial success, Ethernet lost after 10.6.8 upgrade
First time building a Hackintosh, thanks to tonymacx86!
I decided to use my backup PC to install OSX for a small audio project.
Asus Maximus Formula II w/ Intel Q6600 Xeon
Nvidia FX1800
The install went smoothly: iBoot Legacy->10.6.3
All the drivers loaded (sound, video, USB, firewire). No network, so I found the driver (Marvell Yukon 88E8056), ran the installer and it worked!
So now I have a fully operational OSX 10.6.3 system.
I downloaded/ran the 10.6.8 update, then Multibeast (Easybeast, system utilities checked only), then re-booted.
System came up, no issues but no Ethernet.
I tried running the Yukon driver installer again but no luck. Maybe I should try loading Lion? (not sure how since I don't have Ethernet )
I think I would be happy with just 10.6.3 as it seems to work. I have never used OSX so I really don't know what I am missing with 10.6.8 or newer versions .
Any suggestions? Thanks!
