I'm currently running macOS High Sierra 10.13.1. My ASUS P8Z68 V-PRO/GEN3 motherboard has a ASUS USB Bluetooth receiver. It appears to be a Qualcomm Atheros USB receiver (USB\VID_0B05&PID_179C&REV_0001). This has worked fine in Sierra 10.12 but I noticed it shows that Bluetooth is unavailable on High Sierra.
The odd thing is that if I boot into Windows, restart and then boot into macOS High Sierra the bluetooth works perfect. But if I start my machine from cold and boot straight into macOS it doesn't work (bluetooth unavailable).
I've also noticed that in System Profiler under USB I see "Bluetooth HCI" when it works (after a successful boot into Windows and then reboot), however a cold start shows some Vendor Specific generic description.
Any ideas on how to get this USB bluetooth receiver to work?
