also on a side note I followed this guide to make a DSDT

Then used multi beast to install along with nullcpupowermanagement (for the time being)

however I still needed to install hnak's AppleIntelE1000E Ethernet.kext to get the internet working and I still have no sound. I was under the impression that the DSDT.aml was supposed to take care of those things?

Also if a DSDT doesn't contain sound drivers then why does your "[GUIDE] Creating your own DSDT for most boards" contain a step for patching the ALC audio chipset?

From what I read the Maximus IV extreme B3 uses the ALC889 codec which is the one which I patched my DSDT for. Was I wrong and does it actually uses the ALC889a codec?

I apologize if any of my questions are dumb.

its so you dont have to use an enabler for your audio codec.
eg, if you dont include the audio patch into your dsdt, youd have to select applehda rollback, alc8xxhda and a non-dsdt hdaenabler

the asus site says your board uses alc889

P8P67 2103 Bios gives image error with EZFlash. Is this the correct one for this board which is not rev3.1?

ill redo it and upload it again, but it seems strange that your board keeps coming up with image errors.
even if the rom was older than what you currently have installed, itll still flash it.

the non rev3.1 p8p67 rom is for the rev3.0 board, so yeh its the right one
