Okay so I do video editing and would like to use Lucid Virtu with QuickSync. I already have the parts, does QuickSync even work in OSX? It greatly reduces rendering time.

Also I have a 5870 (got it specifically for being OSX compatable) but are 6x series compatable yet? I have two 6950s and a 6850.

No, Virtu is Direct X only.

The only "sandy bridge" real macs are the newest MacBook Pro and the iMac which was released about a month ago. It will take some time for the developers to jump on this. Some OS X apps use nvidia's cuda engine, but it looks like Apple is headed all AMD in the future for its GPUs... so we'll have to see how much of a demand or interest partners put into OpenCL on OS X.
