This is the first hackintosh I have tried, although I have built many computers before.
I might choose a difficult board for a first time, but I think it turn out fine.
The whole idea came from finding the Fractal Design Array case.
It has room for 6 3,5" and 1 2,5" drives, making it a perfect and stylish choice.
The power supply have is 300w and has 7 sata connectors (no power for graphics cards)
It is possible to fit an ATX power supply and full size graphics card with some modding,
but that's not for me right now. I decided to go with the Ivy Bridge HD4000.
The main purpose for this box will be xbmc media center, surfing and basic gaming.
Building the system was straight forward except for an issuse with the Scythe Shuriken
colliding with the RAM, it also block the PCI slot for future use so I use the stock
cooler for now. It's quite silent and the PSU makes more noise then the CPU cooler.
In BIOS I set AHCI mode and changed RAM to 1600 (it detect 1333 as default)
Created UniBeast USB and install Lion according to the guides
Removed AppleHDA and install VoodooHDA 2.7.3 sound works.
I think I will not do anything more until support for HD4000
