AppleHDA Microphone boost

The audio input level on my mic seems to be very low with AppleHDA on a ASUS Mio 888 (ALC888).
From what i understand i should be able to Add/Edit the Boost key in Platforms.xml.
But i don't know where in the file and which node i am supposed to edit, or if i need to add the boost key.

Would be appreciated if someone could help me.

Seems like i must be doing something wrong because it does not seem to do any difference.

From what i understand this is how it should look. edited both for rear and internal mic.

It matters which instance you edited, no way to know based on your post.

Correct pathmap edited. Try a higher value.

Feels like a lost cause? i've tried with boost 30 and no apparent difference.

Hello,

It might be a little too late but have you tried putting the "Boost" entry in Item2 instead of Item1, like in the screenshot? When I tried adding this value in Item1 it didn't do anything either, but this did the trick for me. This is for an external mic on ALC892.
