How can I disable the chimera boot screen so it directly boots into the white Apple logo.

Also my screen starts with an older white apple screen that has a black border then it pops out into the new lion white screen. Can I change this so it automatically boots to the final white Apple logo screen?

I just want it to be black and then see the Apple screen. I searched the forms but couldn't find a topic with this.

Re: apple load screen

you can disable the chimera boot screen by pasting this into your boot plist:
<key>Quiet Boot<key/>
<string>Yes<string/>

don't forget to put a tab in front of each of those 2 lines.

Just so people who look on this forum and say "hey ill try that"

putting that in my plist caused a fatal error and I could not boot into my drive.
I had to go into my lion backup clone to undo the plist for this drive before I could get back on.

So no that doesn't work and I wouldn't recommend anyone who does not have a fail safe drive like I do that can go and undo any modifications they do.

Thanks for trying though andy

Sorry, accidentally exchanged the order.
it is:
<key>Quiet Boot</key>
<string>Yes</string>

don't forget the tab and it will work.

Thats the same code as before
