8 bit color is OK, but unfortunately for me, it appears that the COMP-U-PLUS monitor is glossy, not antiglare.

I think if you read the article you might see it's 430 bucks, which is still a lot of money but a lot less than a grand. Have a nice day.

Overlord Computer is also planning on bringing a 27" S-IPS 8-bit sRGB monitor out based on the same LG panel for about $340 IIRC. Est. due date September. It's called the Tempest and comes in several flavors inc. a 120 Hz variety.

Will be interesting to see if their's is glossy, how it stacks against the Nixeus, etc....

Thanks for the link! Overlord computers is within driving distance for me in Northern California. I will try to visit them when they receive the shipment and report back.

I am looking for a monitor that is affordable and useful for photography and software development. I have been waiting a little while because the best monitors are old and still very expensive. Apple has shaken things up with the new iPad and Retina MBP, and I hope that there will be more quality desktop options soon.

No reply from Overlord after a week. I will try to contact them again when they are shipping.
