same error for me!!

is this the same "Your device or computer could not be verified" error from Lion?!?

Thx

PS is normal that in Mountain Lion OSX86Tools 1.0.150 doesn't work??? Thx

I had the exact same issue on my system... My motherboard's built-in Ethernet card was not working so I used a USB ethernet adapter. The trouble is that authentication will only work if your built-in adapter is set to network interface "en0".

Here is what I did: Even though my built-in adapter doesn't work, I still installed the kext for it (in my case, AppleIntelE1000e.kext). The driver was able to recognize it and install it as a network interface.

Then, I deleted /Libraries/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist and rebooted. That re-set the network adapters such that the built-in port was en0 and the USB port was en1. I had to remove and re-add the adapters in the network settings control panel and then everything worked. The AppStore authenticated without issue.

i install AppleIntelE1000e.kext
add 4b00000001000000010000003f0000000100000002010c00d041030a0000000001010600041c0101060000007fff0400160000006200750069006c0074002d0069006e0000000500000001 to device propertis
deleted /Libraries/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist
remove all network devises frome system preferences
but not find Ethernet devices on network preferences....

any help....

This is something odd. One system works fine, two others have the "unknown error occurred." I can't get passed it (past it? Which is right?) and have done every single fix-attempt I can find. I'm calling Apple next and getting help. I may have to be "economical" with the facts regarding what system is having the problem. I'll post back when I find out why.

THANK YOU SOO MUCH CrazyP!!!!

Worked like a charme!!!!!!

Cheers!!! ;)

Thank you CrazyP. I had a similar problem and your suggestion of deleting "NetworkInterfaces.plist" and reinstalling the network interface (to make sure that my adapter was en0) solved my problem as well.
