Am I compatible with Mac Os! GPU suggestions!

hello guys,

I am new in tonymacOs forum. I have read a lot posts but I need some advice.

I have the following system:

CPU: i5 2500K
mobo: Gigabyte GA-Z68XP- UD3P v1.0
RAM: Corsair Venegease 8gb DDR3 1600

a) This system, is compatible with mac os lion?

I need your advice for buying a new GPU.

I am thinking of buying the

EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti FPB part number 01G-P3-1561-AR

b) Will this card be compatible with mac os lion?

Go for an ati Radeon 6870 instead. It will be cheaper and fully compatible right out of the box in lion. The gtx 560 ti will work too.

And that motherboard, should work great.

Go for the 6870 if you want it working completely out of the box.

Actually I would prefer nvidia over ATI.

But should I buy a specific 560 ti model? Or every card 560 ti works?

I suggest you read the first link carefully there are still issues with 5xx GFX cards.

All brands work with Lion as long as there is 2DVI, 1HDMI, and 2 MiniDP ports.
