Do I need an existing mac machine to install Sierra [or any mac OS] on a PC?

Is there a solution to this question that can be linked here on this forum that would involve not getting it from the App Store? I previously had a working Yosemite hackintosh and used an acquaintance's mac to obtain the os through the proper channels; unfortunately, my hackintosh has failed and I sadly have no friends to create a new bootdrive.
