Re: ALC892Enabler Beta - TESTERS NEEDED - 5.1 & 7.1

With the first 5.1 option I was able to get sound from my rear speakers and front speakers, but not my center or sub. Here's a screen shot of audio midi set-up after install.

Edit: 5.1 is now working from all channels. Green/ Black/ Orange.

Edit #2: Just created a separate Aggregate Device to get 5.1 working. Just watched a little of "The Dark Knight" and the audio seems muffled. Not sure why. Just messed with the levels a little bit and now it's sounding much better.

Running a Gigabyte P67A-UD3. No DSDT. Using the HDA Enabler.

Let me know of anything further I can do to test this.

Re: ALC892Enabler Beta - TESTERS NEEDED - 5.1 & 7.1

Hello I would love to test this I have a Surround Sound Triton Headset that I could use to see how the 5.1 works... My motherboard is a Gigabyte P55A-UD3 I know this motherboard has the Realtek ALC892 audio codex.... I'm just not sure if the DSDT I used has HDEF... if you can confirm that the Downloaded DSDT I used has it I'll go ahead and install it..

DSDT I used: Gigabyte - P55A - UD3 - REV 2 - F11

Re: ALC892Enabler Beta - TESTERS NEEDED - 5.1 & 7.1

Didn't work for me, tried with/on:

  • No DSDT: HDAEnabler for ALC 892 + ALC892 Enabler Beta[/*:m:369jxqo5]
  • OS X 10.6.6[/*:m:369jxqo5]

Re: ALC892Enabler Beta - TESTERS NEEDED - 5.1 & 7.1

  • ALC8xxHDA[/*:m:3vfq8zmx]
  • AppleHDA Rollback[/*:m:3vfq8zmx]

The Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD3-B3 has the ALC889 audio codec not the ALC 892 (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3795#sp). The ALC892Enabler only works with the ALC892.

While the board you linked is wrong... yes you are right:

Re: ALC892Enabler Beta - TESTERS NEEDED - 5.1 & 7.1

Is the rollback necessary before applying the patch?
(Or I should ask does it work better with the 10.6.2 or 10.6.6 AppleHDA?)
Thanks! :)
