ALC1220 - Showing volume controls etc

I have my volume controls showing, it lets me adjust volume up and down, select line out etc but i cannot hear anything, tried all ports.

is it possible to give me the volume contorl but not actually working?

If i plug my headphones into the front of the pc, sierra automatically detects this and changes Internal speakers to headphones.

But still NO sound coming out. Any ideas?

Setup is
i7 7700k
Gigabyte z270x- ultra gaming
Gigabyte gtx 1070 (working fine via display port)
