Hello, thanks to everybody on this forum for all the help.

I am planning to convert my existing snow leopard HTPC to a sandy bridge Lion server / htpc. I have a couple of questions regarding Mobo & cpu.

The priority is Low Power as this will be on 24/7.

For CPU i was thinking of core i3-2100T (35W TDP). THoughts ?

For Mobo, I just need something with 4 SATA ports, any ATX form factor is fine. What would be your suggestion on a low cost Mobo ?

Thanks !

I would change the CPU to a 2105, as the HD2000 on the 2100T is not compatible with OSX and it will cost more to get that + a graphics card (which would negate the power savings of the "T" chip.

For the motherboard, any Socket 1155 that has Realtek audio/ethernet and has a DSDT in the database is good to go.

WOuld a core i5-2500T integrated graphics work on Lion ? It is only 45W TDP ?

Nope. You need a CPU with HD3000. ;)

As said above, you need a CPU with HD3000 graphics. I suggest the Core i5-2405S if you need low power (65W) and quad core, or the Core i3-2105 / i3-2125 if you only need dual core.

Which Mobo would you recommended as low cost and able to use hd3000 ?
any size is ok.

Thanks!
