Apple abandoned my Mac Pro 1,1. Have always had a low end Power Mac -> Mac Pro, can't have it any other way. Need it for typical Dad uses (lots of kid pix and movies, etc) and usual household/home office stuff. Wife is reluctant as she likes reliability of OS updates/etc. But she is agreeable so long as it's as quiet as my Mac Pro (we had a Power Mac G4 MDD that was a howler). Is case big enough for GPU?

Thoughts and advice appreciated.

Good job at the reasearch! Great job!

Thanks. 2 questions:

1. Is the case large enough to handle the video card?
2. Is the PSU capable?
3. Should I also get a CPU heatsink/fan module? If so, what is a good one?

Thanks again.

1. You're joking right? That case is HUGE and the card is small
2. Yes, more than enough for your components
3. Something like Cooler Master's Hyper TX3 should do the trick, the stock cooler works, but imho it's quite noisy and it's not a good cooler.

Actually not joking. I have no idea what I'm doing here as I've never assembled my own computer. With my Mac Pro, I haven't charged the graphics cards and so it wasn't an issue for me ever.

Thanks, I'll look into the Cooler Master.
