Hey guys, I'm new to this and as a matter of fact this is my first post! Anyways, I've been dying to upgrade to a new iMac/MacBook Pro but seeing as how they're pretty expensive, I've now added a Hackintosh as my most feasible option. For my build I'm planning on using an...

- Intel Core i3-540 Clarkdale 3.06GHz LGA 1156 Dual-Core processor with a
- BIOSTAR TH55 HD LGA 1156 Intel H55 HDMI Micro ATX Intel motherboard.

So my question is, now that the recently released iMac's - as of 7/27/10 - sport new i3's would my build be easier to set up, or even possible? Any advice is appreciated.

P.S. I'll try and add the wishlist of my whole set-up when it is available.

You will still need to add a video card as the integrated video in the i3 is still not supported.

Thanks for the reply MacMan. For some reason I can't seem to make my wishlist public on Newegg but here's my complete build:

- BIOSTAR TH55 HD LGA 1156 Intel H55 HDMI Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
- Intel Core i3-540 Clarkdale 3.06GHz LGA 1156 73W Dual-Core Desktop Processor BX80616I3540
- SAPPHIRE 100252HDMI Radeon HD 4550 512MB 64-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support
- Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKS 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
- ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner - Bulk - OEM
- Crucial 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model CT2KIT12864BA1339
- RAIDMAX Typhoon ATX-312WS Black SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
- Diablotek DA Series PSDA350 350W ATX Power Supply

I'll be building it real soon, so I'm trying to figure out the best set up. Since I'm hearing both good and bad things about the motherboard, I'm thinking I'll take a shot at it, and work out the kinks as I go along.

Unless you go with a Sony or Pioneer DVD, auto-sleep won't work.
