Advice: Intel Core i7-2600 3.4GHz Quad-Core SB, HD6450

This is on sale at Dell for $699. It seems like it would be hard to build for less. I see some scattered reports of getting the XPS 8300 to work under Lion.

Any thoughts about this specific machine?

Well, it's got a P67 chipset, so it could work out. The optional X-Fi sound card is maybe not supported by Voodoo HDA...rest of the hardware should not be any issue.
