Add USB 3.0 to your 4530s

Hello everyone,
I own the USB 3.0 passport external HDD, but sadly my 4530s don't offer 3.0, i was thinking of buying this express card. My question is however, can i use it with lion?

We, don't know unless somebody jumps in and buy it.
Official website lists Windows drivers only.
I've read users reports that it works on linux. Nothing about OSX
Interesting though, MacMall has it listed on their website, so maybe?

Today is good day to buy it. Amazon has it like $20.

Actually my question is different. I want to make sure if the express card slot is usable on our laptops (pro books)? If it works with other mac compatible express cards then it should work aswell with this express card

It should work. Someone reported had bought a firewire card and was working, so I think you should be ok. I ordered a memory card reader to express card and I'll post the result when I receive it.

Thanks. I will be waiting for the result. The thing is, i basically can't benefit from the black friday since i live in that part of world where i paid like 150$ more to get the pro book shipped from amazon.
Same is for the express card lacie i am talking about, i ll have to pay huge amount for the international shipping. So i don't want to get it shipped internationally and then to cry later on

I have HP Probook 4530s with OS X 10.8.4 Hackintoshed.


The blue usb port (on left nearest to keyboard) is USB 3.0.

It works!

in my Apple System Information listing.

I'm not sure why the name of the item is missing
but I have it selected so you can see the details.

Please don't give people false information.

Some of the ProBook 4x30s models (maybe the half) don't have this "blue" port (my 4330s doesn't have it too), so an express card is the only solution for these models to get USB 3.0 support and that doesn't make the information from this thread "false"!
Check the things first before posting such statements!
