Add a second CPU to functional system?

I'm just wondering if I can add a second CPU to my setup to go from a quad core to an 8 core. And if so do I need to get another of the exact same CPU and will I need to reinstall everything?

Not really possible. That's basically building a new system and only certain processors allow you to have 2 of them. Not to mention the fact that you would need a motherboard that allows for 2 CPUs
