I am not responsible for any damage or if your computer turns into a lemon all of a sudden. Everything you do is not guaranteed to work & you are responsible.

See Specs.txt for details

What I'm running
Monterey 12.6.6
Open Core 0.9.2
OC Auxiliary Tools 20230019
The 714Y is dual boot with Win 10 due to legacy software, you can try Win 11.

I started this project considering Catalina and OC 0.6.9 on June 2021
When I succeeded it was with Big Sur 11.6, now I have both running with the OS stated before.
I followed Dortania's guide and https://github.com/hanlywijaya/Acer-Aspire-A515-55-Opencore
Tried to get the original WiFi/BT working I could'nt make it work flawesly so I change the M.2 card for a Fenvy

Working
Airport
Wifi
Touchpad
Keyboard
Camara
Microphone
Sleep
Wakeup
Blue Tooth
Volume Keys
Brightness keys

Not tested
Sidecar

Not working
HDMI, will never work as is connected directly to the nVidia chip.
Audio/mic jack

First you have to deal with BIOS

F2 to access BIOS
InsydeH2O Setup Utility Rev 5.0
On the screen you'll see six Tabs
Information, Main, Advanced, Security, Boot and Exit.

To change certain options you need to set a Supervisor Password, you can delete it when you're done.

Goto to the Security tab
Click on Supervisor Password, use whatever text you want.
Restart and go enter BIOS

See BIOS.txt for the full setup

Then follow the Dortania guide for Laptop Coffee Lake Plus and Comet Lake to make the installer USB and to get the files needed

I won't paste the EFI, you can use my attached config.plist and build it.

If you ask why i don't post it it's because I don't want you to miss all the fun and learning of making your Nitro 5 a Hackintosh

If you're going to dual boot I recommend you install a second SDD and use two different brands so it's easier to select the correct drive when you are mounting the EFI. Also I recommend to remove the original SDD with Win while you install MacOS.

I use OCAT to keep my EFI updated with no hassels.
