Hi!

I've got Acer Aspire V3-372 and I'm planning to hackintosh it.
I will update this thread when ever I run into a problem I cannot alone solve.
It has following specs:

Intel Core i5-6267U, 2.9Ghz, 4MB L3 cache
Intel Iris 550, up to 4180MB Dynamic Video Memory
8GB RAM
128 SSD M.2

I have already successfully installed El Capitan to it but not everything is working as it should.

Right now, my biggest issue is to get graphics to work correctly.
I also have some ACPI patching issues, but I will update this thread about it later.

OS X recognised Intel Iris graphics 550, but shows 7MB as video memory. I also get a lot flickering and really slow animations.
I downloaded config.plist from rehabmans repo, which was configured for hd 520 but I changed the platform id to Iris graphics 550 (0x19260000), which I found from pikeralpha's blog. Can't really find much information about this graphics card... This didn't do the trick, so I downloaded and installed FakePCIID.kext and FakePCIID_Intel_HD_Graphics.kext still nothing.

So I'm asking if anyone could help me to the right direction, am I forgetting something or doing something wrong?

config.plist and screenshot attached.

Thanks in advance.

8086:1927 is not natively supported by AppleIntelSKLGraphicsFramebuffer.kext. You can see it is not listed in the Info.plist.

You will need to use a FakeID (config.plist/Devices/FakeID/IntelGFX) with an ID that is supported in the Info.plist...

I don't know why, but when using FakeID nothing is changing. Still iris graphics 550 overview and same problems persist. I took id from Info.plist in AppleIntelSKLGraphicsFramebuffer.kext
I have never used FakeID before, is there something to do before/after setting an FakeID?

Let's see what you're actually doing...

Attach ioreg as ZIP: http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/58368-guide-how-make-copy-ioreg.html. Please, use the IORegistryExplorer v2.1 attached to the post! DO NOT reply with an ioreg from any other version of IORegistryExplorer.app.

Provide output (in Terminal):
Code:
kextstat|grep -y acpiplat
kextstat|grep -y appleintelcpu
kextstat|grep -y applelpc
kextstat|grep -y applehda

Attach EFI/Clover folder as ZIP (press F4 at main Clover screen before collecting). Please eliminate 'themes' directory. Provide only EFI/Clover, not the entire EFI folder.

Attach output of (in Terminal):
Code:
sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions && sudo kextcache -u /

Compress all files as ZIP. Do not use external links. Attach all files using site attachments only.

The config.plist shows ig-platform-id 0x16260000. But the ioreg shows 0x0d220003. Perhaps you're changing the ig-platform-id in the Clover GUI. Using an invalid ig-platform-id like that will disable the graphics drivers (0x0d220003 is for Haswell desktop, not Skylake).

I don't think I quite understand what you mean. There's exactly one place I know where I can change platform id and it's in config.plist. What do you mean by Clover GUI? I've tried changing everything I know of but nothing is changing. Which platform -id would be recommended? HD520?

It can also be changed from Clover options. Since the one I see in ioreg is different from the one specified in your config.plist, I guessed you were changing it in the Clover options before booting the system.

Since you seem to be unaware of this option... unlikely you're using it...

Which means you have a file management issue... You are not booting from the EFI/Clover you attached. You should change something in your config.plist that will be obvious when you boot the system (such as the theme being used). That way you can sort out why you're booting from a different config than you think you are...

See above. It is clear you're not booting from the Clover config you are modifying...

Checked out the Clover options, what ever I write in as platform id or FakeID will be displayed correctly in there too. Also theme does change when setting different one from the config.plist. So I guess I am booting from correct location. Downloaded and used 2 different config.plist from your repo, HD520 and HD4000 and set the fake ID to HD4000 (0x01660004) and HD520(0x19160000). Nothing new.

You should verify that what you set shows up in ioreg. If not, you have something strange going on... Perhaps some strange kexts installed or something.

You can find AAPL,ig-platform-id in ioreg... It should be the same as what you specify in config.plist.
